Yes and she deserves them too!
She ran in an event known as "the Grizzly", this year dubbed Armageddon NowHere, which is a 19.5 mile slog over shale beaches, through bogs, up and down about 3000m of various types of hill and generally not pleasant. Still she was overjoyed when she finished. [Picture to come soon]
Three of the Agnews completed, Rosie, her Brother and her Dad and they all finished the tough course, with Mark, her brother, taking only ~3hrs20 to finish despite a stomach bug that caused him to lose valuable time whilst vomiting... Rosie made it in ~5hrs which makes 15minute miles which is incredible really. Her Dad followed shortly after.
So, I finally write this again. I'm obviously not cut out for it - perhaps I should try and integrate it into my routine. Otherwise I just tend to find I don't bother. But much has happened since last time, for example the Dartmouth Regatta - although that event was marred slightly by the lack of prescence of the Plymouth Gin stall in the Craft Tent. Usually I take the opportunity to buy copius amounts of Navy Strength (57% vol, 100% proof) Plymouth Gin at low, low prices. But not this year. :(
Then we have had excitement with our house moving plans. Saleboards our previous Agent - who I guess we realised we were taking a bit of a risk with - failed to drum up any interest at all, but Haart despite a slower start seem to be more promising. Anyway time will tell and it's still early days yet.
What next, last weekend in detail maybe. Friday night we went to Wagamama's armed with our Express & Echo 2-4-1 Main Meals vouchers and I remembered how much I like Sake (I must find a good place to buy it in England...) and then we went to the PictureHouse. We saw Atonement which I wasn't expecting as I had no idea what it was about. Still I enjoyed it a lot, even if I don't think I'll ever want to see it again. Certainly the cinematography was pleasing to the eye.
Then on to Saturday during which I spent a fair amount of the day at the Imperial in the gorgeous sunshine dinrking Heineken and generally enjoying myself. Also Dave "DoubleD" was in town and so I got to spend some time with him which was great as I haven't fun ages and he's a top bloke. Then after that home to (rather tipsily) mow the lawn and then cook chicken satay for Rosie and her brother who was staying over for the Grizzly the next day.
The day of the Grizzly was quiet for me, the start anf finish where good but the four hours in between required some alternate entertainment. Fortunately, I brought my laptop and was able to continue with the work I have been doing towards making web-design easier. I have been doing an inordinate amount of coding in that respect over the last few weeks, but finally feel like it is paying off.
That's probably about all for now, but watch this space as Iwill put some photos up to adorn this post when I next get the chance (hopefully less than the time between posts... I wonder what the Mean Time Between Posts is, pretty high probably...).
